AU 07 REDROSE 3249 took 5th in the 2007 Spirit of Colorado Race flown Sept. 2nd. Out of 275 birds, 3249 was 1st bird in the 2nd drop. 3249 is bred from 47 and 57, one of our best breeding Van Reet Pairs.

1st REDROSE 3143 takes 2nd at 100 miles then the following week takes 1st at 150 miles at Bill's "All Color Race". REDROSE 3143 is bred from Van Reets 265, a son of RED TIDE and 1625, a daughter of Champion LEYTON EXPRESS.

Red Rose Lofts Wins 1st Three OB Races of 2007
In our Club we fly three races every weekend. The "A" race has a 12 bird limit. The "B" race is unlimited, and the "C" race is our weekly "Sprint" Race, 12 bird limit, always flown from Burns, OR., about 125 miles for us. Our 1st weekend of the 2007 Old Bird Season was flown 4/21/07, all three races released from Burns, Oregon, 125 miles for us.
"A" Race, a 12 bird limit race, REDROSE 2852, a Van Reet from 4572, our son of RIPPED and 123, one of our daughters of LAZAR took 1st with REDROSE 2574, a Desmett Mathys Hen on the same drop taking 2nd.
"B" Race, unlimited race with 214 birds entered, we again had two birds on the drop. REDROSE 2722, 1st and REDROSE 2857 2nd, 2 minutes ahead of the 3rd place bird. 2722 is Janssen, a grandson of BIG AL and JOSE, 2857 is Van Reet, a daughter of "47" and "57", one of our best breeding Van Reet Pairs.
"C" Race, our weekly Sprint Race, again Red Rose Lofts took 1st and 2nd with a two bird drop. REDROSE 2748 1st and 2755 2nd. 2748 is a Van Reet Cock, son of "1668", our son of GOOD NEWS, and REDROSE 1997, daughter of F-8 CRUSADER. 2nd place bird, 2755, is a son of STUDLY when paired to "2191", the Janssen hen that bred our World Trade Center Winner and only "Day Bird".
In the "C" race Red Rose Birds also placed 5, 6, 11, and 12.

Red Rose Lofts Takes "High Average Speed" Awards
For the 2006 Racing Season Red Rose Lofts took 1st Place "High Average Speed" in both Old Birds and Young Birds in our Club "Sprint Series". Weekly races flown from Burns, OR., 125 miles. And in Young Birds, flying two teams, Steve's Team took 1st and Linda's Team took 2nd, missing 1st by a very slim margin.

2/7/07, Just got an update from Zhicheng Zang, He says Red Rose Birds that went to his friends in China are breeding winners. Two he mentioned are 03 REDROSE 1632, this bird was 1st home in the 2004 Highlander One Loft Race but sat on the roof for a minute and ended up getting equal 2nd. He is a son of MAXWELL and MAXINE.
And 02 REDROSE 1102, racing for us she took 1st, 3rd, 4th, 8th, and 11th. She is a daughter of MAXWELL and PRINCESS LEIA.

10/14/06, In our Club "Bond Race" from 300 miles Red Rose Lofts put three birds "In the Money". All three birds were Van Reets!

The Colorado Gold Rush flown 10/14/06 from Elm Creek, NV. 318 miles, turned out to be a hard race with only 48 "Day Birds". REDROSE 2620, a grandkid of JOSE and BIG AL clocked 32nd, "In the Money"! 2620 is from the same pair that has bred 8th-2004 Spirit Of Colorado and 20th- 2005 Spirit of Colorado.

10/14/06, And in the "Mid Atlantic Open", multi loft race flown to New Jersey, 888 birds. REDROSE 2618 handled by Joe Zack took 7th! 2618 was part of a 4 bird drop that took 4th through 7th for Joe but was the 4th bird in the trap! 2618 is a Blue Bar Janssen/Cross Hen, grand daughter of STUDLY, our old "Logo Bird" and super breeder, and 17853, one of our super breeding "Up North Combine" hens.

9/30/06, CORP Futurity Race, 300 miles from Mt Home, Idaho, Red Rose birds placed 4th through 9th "In the Money" with two 3 bird drops. The 1st two birds through the trap were Van Reets, nest mates from 47 and 57, one of our best breeding Van Reet pairs. Also in our club "Sprint" Race two Van Reets took 1st and 2nd.

At the Oregon State Convention Race flown 9/16/06 REDROSE 2623 came in on the 1st drop sharing "Equal 1st". 2623 is a daughter of "600", Linda's grandson of the "Queen's Bird", the Queen of England that is.

IF-06-LCM-206 bred and flown by Michael Bamrick from Red Rose breeders placed 15th out of over 3500 birds in the Central Jersey Combine. The Sire of 206 placed 4th club and 28th combine out of 2714 birds last year in old birds.

9/23/06, in the 100 mile race of the 4 week Lou McElroy One Loft Race Series REDROSE 2645, placed in the money at 7th. 2645 is from REDROSE 1337, a son of Motown Missile. 1337 also bred 1st Central Jersey Combine vs 2031 birds last year.

REDROSE Birds take 12th and 13th at the 2006 Spirit of Colorado One Loft Race flown Sunday Sept. 4th. 2602 is from REDROSE 1646, a son of JOSE, our "019" Grandson and 11119, a daughter of the great PATRIOT Cock. REDROSE 2641 is from a son of BIG AL and a daughter of MOTOWN MISSILE.

REDROSE 2653, one of our new "Black Rose" birds took 12th in the Harmoney Auction Race vs 208 birds. "Black Rose" is a new family of birds we are breeding, all parents are Dark Check sons and daughters of Champion "Leyton Express" and "Maxwell". This combines 50% Van Reet for the killer attidude and speed, and 50% "Patriot Janssen" for the going distance.

In China, our birds just keep doing it. 5102900, another bird bred from REDROSE 1271, a daughter of MOTOWN MISSILE and ALICE, and REDROSE 1803, son of KALEIDOSCOPE and brother of MOTOWN MISSILE, took 4th place from a 3 provinces special race. Again the same bird scored again yesterday 79th place out of 1,300 birds but 6th place from the club.

Two birds bred from Red Rose Breeders took 4th and 32nd in a Big Two -Province special race, 375 Kilometers, 763 birds, in . Both of these birds were bred from REDROSE 1083 and REDROSE 1271 for the same breeder that scored big in China last year. 1271 is a daughter of MOTOWN MISSILE and ALICE.

5/20/06, a bird bred from two Red Rose Birds takes 18th for Steve McMahan in the State Line Combine vs 381 birds @ 238 miles. Steve's 18th place bird was bred from REDROSE 1001 "Pappy", nest mate to our super breeding hen "Maxine", and REDROSE 1656, a daughter of "Grumpy", our old Sion Cock.

4/15/06, Red Rose Lofts Wins 1st Race of the Season
On a very tough, windy Day Red Rose Birds came through. An unexpected storm blew in with wind gusts of up to 40 MPH. All the birds were blown way off course resulting in Winning speeds in the 700s.
In the "A" Race Red Rose Lofts took 1st and 2nd, a full 16 minutes in front. In the Sprint Race Red Rose Lofts took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, only 3 minutes out. A very good showing considering the conditions.

2/4/06 Red Rose 2353 Wins the Highlander!
On a tough head wind race REDROSE 2353 a grand daughter of "Studly" came in with two other birds 2 minutes ahead to take "Equal 1st". The race was flown from Thousand Springs, Nev. to St George, Utah, 294 miles. Red Rose Lofts also put two other birds "In The Money" taking 13th and 20th. This is 3 birds in the top 10%. 2336, the 13th place bird is a grand kid of "Big Al" and "Studly". 2338, the 20th place bird is a son of "Motown Missile" and "Vikki".

11/05/05, Red Rose Bred Bird Wins "Overall High Point Bird"
At the Lou McElroy Race flown today in North Carolina, AU 05 RDU 84 Won High Point Bird for the four race series. RDU 84 was entered by Ted Smith and was bred by Kenny Oliver and is a son of REDROSE 1229, a half brother of "Motown Missile". 1229 and Motown have the same mom, 7723, one of our top producing "Patriot" Daughters.

Lynn Gothard, in her 1st year flying Wins her club 300 mile race with the only "DAY BIRD", REDROSE 2197, a Van Reet, grandson of Rolls Royce Merlin. 2197 was not only Race Winner and only Day Bird but won Club Champion Bird also. Lynn had a super year taking High Point Bird, High Point Loft, and High Average Speed with Red Rose Birds. And 1/25/2006, Lynn just found out she way just awarded IF "Rookie of the Year", WOW! 10/1/05, Another Big Weekend for Red Rose Birds
Joe Martino takes 1st and 2nd, 200 mile with Red Rose bred birds. His winning birds beat the rest by 6 YPM ! His 1st place bird was bred from 02 REDROSE 1379, a son of Jimi and Brenda, our old Hofkin pair. His 2nd place bird is a gr-son of the same pair.
On a hard 150 Michael Bamrick took 2nd club, 53rd Central Jersey Combine vs 2197 birds, and all the money with REDROSE 2231, a gr-son of Big Al and Motown Missile.
In the "Ohio Breeders Classic" one loft race REDROSE 2206 Wins the 150 for Win Pham. 2206 is bred from REDROSE 1646, a full brother to 1444 our Winner and only Day Bird, 2003 World Trade Center Memorial Race when pair with 11119, one of our Patriot Daughters. http://www.ohiorace.com/index.html
And in the "Capital City Futurity John Lucchese took 18th with REDROSE 2264, a daughter of Motown Missile and Vikki.
And, and again, in the Idaho Classic Futurity, Jason Milliken took 8th with CORP 6965, bred from REDROSE 1933, Sire, and REDROSE 2074 Dam, This is Motown Missile on two sides of the pedigrees. This was a very hard race with rain most of the way home. Out of 307 birds sent there were no "Day Birds" and only 103 2nd day birds.

9/18/05, Red Rose Birds Wins in New Jersey
Red Rose 2264 a son of Motown Missile and Vikki, flown by John Lucchese won the Capital City Club race today, and took 121st vs 3,239 Central Jersey Combine.
NWK 1919, a son of Studly when paired to 3312, his daughter took 2nd for Armand Vieira flying in the Newark, New Jersey Club, and was 88th vs 3,239 Central Jersey Combine.
And on Staten Island Joey Ida took 10th and 19th with Red Rose birds. 10th was bred off Foo Fighter and a daughter of Jose, 19th is off Carbon Copy, a son of Maxwell. and a daughter of Jose.

9/3/05, Big Weekend for Red Rose Birds
Racing with the Camas Prairie Club Steve and Austin McMahan win their 1st ever Pigeon Race. Steve and Austin, beginners on the AU Help a Beginner Program won the "A" race from 106 miles with a bird bred from two "Red Rose" birds, a son of "Studly" and a daughter of "Foo Fighter"
At the Washington State Race flown to Yakima, 177 birds sent, 3 birds on the drop share "Equal 1st". One of the Winners bred and entered by Bruce Silvia is a bird bred from a son of "Jose" paired to a daughter of "Jose" with two different hens. Less than a dozen birds made it home on the day.
And in Denver, CO. at the "Spirit of Colorado" one loft race, "Red Rose Lofts" put 3 birds in the money! 238 birds sent, Red Rose Birds placed 14th and 20th out of only 24 "Day Birds! The 2nd morning Red Rose Lofts got a 3rd bird in the money at 40th and by the end of the day 7 out of 9 Red Rose birds birds sent were home! Red Rose 2121 who clocked 14th also took 6th High Point Bird for the three race series. 2121 is a Janssen from "Edgar" and "3312", "Studly's" daughter.

Top Gun Shoot Out, flown 6/12/05
The 1st leg, 150 miles, of the three race series was flown Sunday, 6/12. Two birds came in together 10 minutes ahead of the flock. Clocking 1st was WTUL 104, entered and bred by Mike Quinn. 104 was bred from REDROSE 1897, one of our "Patriot Janssens" bred from "7711" our nephew of the "Patriot Cock" and "11119", one of our daughters of the "Patriot Cock". Way to go Mike!
The other bird on the 1st drop was REDROSE 2159, our bird bred from "Totally Awesome", our son of "Maxwell", son of the "Patriot Cock" and "Maxine". 2159's dam is CU 17856, daughter of "The Baard", grandson of the "019" on her sire's side and full sister of "Vikki", our super breeding "Up North Combine" Hen on her Dam's side.
8th place was bred by Ken Jones, BTC 3324, both parents Red Rose birds, from Motown, Big Al, and Studly.

AU 03 FRP 3247, a Van Reet Cross Cock bred by Ray Cason and flown by Ken Thompson won 1st Club, 1st Combine, 1st Sate of Georgia, and 9th overall South East Open. He flew 505 miles against 592 birds, 72 lofts, from 8 different States for his 9th place finish. "3247" was bred from 02 REDROSE 1611, a Van Reet Cock bred from "265" and "228". Flown Nov. 3rd, 3250 birds entered, 1145 birds sent, REDROSE 1561, a Janssen/Van Reet cross, placed 22nd. winning 10,000 Chinese dollars. And at the auction of the race birds sold for 4,000 Chinese dollars. 1561's sire is Janssen, a son of "7723", daughter of the "Patriot Cock", dam is Van Reet/Janssen cross. 1561 was the highest placing American and International Entry in the race. A pair of Red Rose bred birds we sold to China bred a bird that this spring as a yearling placed 19th out of 3700 birds . We have just been informed the same pair has bred a young bird that this past weekend placed 13th out of over 7500 birds at 437 miles from Handan, Hebei, China. The Dam of this pair is a daughter of Motown Missile.

Red Rose Lofts Wins AU Breeders Cup
Every year the American Racing Pigeon Union awards the "Breeders Cup" to the AU Loft with the best non club race record. In other words the best Futurity Race Breeder in the AU. The Futurity Race Results are compiled using the UPR rating system, where the lower the UPR score the better. Red Rose Lofts' Futurity Race record scored a 1.933 making us the Best Futurity Race Breeder in the AU category of 600 birds and under.

10/16/04, 2004 Colorado Gold Rush, 312 miles, 241 birds sent. Red Rose Lofts puts two birds in the money! Red Rose Lofts placed 12th with 1783, a YB of "Edgar", our son of Andre Roodhooft's "Jimi" and "Brenda". when paired to "3312", our best daughter of "Studly". And "Jose" does it again! 1779 a YB of "Jose" and "2181" came in 33rd also in the money. This is a full sibling of our World Trade Center "Day Bird". 10/4/04, 2004 Lou McElroy Race, North Carolina. 184 birds sent, only 23 birds made it home the 2nd day. A very hard race. Our Handler Richard Clark, flying 387 miles had a drop of two birds. Our "1888", a grandchild of "Big Al" on the sire's side and "Motown Missile" on the dam's side clocked 2 seconds behind Terry Brooks' bird taking 2nd place. The winning speed was only 820 YPM.

9/18/04, 2004 Highlander One Loft Race , flown 253 miles. This was a hard head wind race with only 9 Day Birds. Red Rose Lofts put three birds in the money. 3rd was "1883", bred from "1027" son of Tim Force's old Janssen stock and "Strawberry Fields", a new hen we just got this spring. 10th was "1882", a grandson of "Jose" and "Vikki", 15th "1864" is from "1378" a son of "Kaleidoscope" and "7723", "1378" is a full brother of "Motown Missile", our double "Hall of Fame" Winner. Coming in 19th was "1786", a grandson of "Grumpy", and 29th, a grandson of "Kaleidoscope", "Big Al", and "7723". Another solid performance for Red Rose Lofts.

Flown Jan. 17th from Wells NV. to St George, UT, 300 miles, 290 birds. Red Rose 1632, a son of Maxwell and Maxine placed Equal 2nd. 1632 was actually one of the two birds first to arrive at the loft but wouldn't trap until a third bird had arrived and trapped. And we had a Van Reet place 8th. The 4th place bird bred by Bill Collins is pure Red Rose. It's sire is a son of "Maxwell" and it's dam is a daughter of "Motown Missile".

Flown 2/1/03, 300 miles from Wells, Nevada to St George, Utah. 210 birds entered, 166 shipped to the race. This turned out to be a very hard race with strong headwinds all day. Only 1 day bird and 71 birds clocked second day. Red Rose Lofts entered 6 birds, 4 went to the race, and 2 clocked. 7th and 13th. We were very pleased with our results.
Our 7th place bird is out of "Big Al" and "748". This pair this year bred 5th and 9th Champion Birds in the Concourse vs 1800 birds, plus one other Futurity money winner for us.
